About Legacy Proud

Here's the story of how the idea of Legacy Proud was born. Before this happened, I didn't even realize I needed a different expression of my connection to A&M.

On the drive home after a long day at work, I was a bit too ready for the day to be done and rolled though a stop sign.  Woo - Woo! Lights!  I was pulled over.  After making sure I was not a fleeing felon, the officer approached my car and asked for my license.  I apologized and started to explain.  But he said that he saw my bumper emblem and could not give a ticket to an "Aggie Mom because my mom is an Aggie Mom too."  I thanked him (and my lucky stars) and hurried on home.  As I was pulling away, it occurred to me that I should have told him I was not just an Aggie Mom, I was an Aggie, too.  And an Aggie wife and an Aggie sister too!

And so it began..........

It's been a journey to figure out how to create a message that includes the full story of my pride.  I kept at it because I wanted it for me, for my family, my fellow Aggies, and for those at other colleges as well.  Yes, even UT!  Legacy Proud also applies to members of the military, first responders, and other organizations, such as sororities and fraternities.  Whenever there is pride and a family connection, there is Legacy Proud.

Because we are not just proud, we are Legacy Proud!
